The newest touchpoint in the exp37, the Outfit Wall, enables customers to interact with content from afar: to browse through the virtual catalogue, look at product information, place orders or make a purchase via QR code.
The outfit wall, which relies on Kinect technology, is controlled by gestures. The intuitive user interface allows customers to quickly and easily select products. One of the advantages of the outfit wall is the contextual presentation of the assortment, e.g. in the form of complete looks / outfits. This manner of presenting products leverages cross-selling and upselling opportunities and thereby has a positive impact on the purchase decision. Moreover, the outfit wall enables retailers and brands to present the entire depth and breadth of the product assortment. Via a QR code the customer is then taken to the desired product in the online shop where he or she can make use of the retailer’s online services (e.g. Availability Check, Reserve & Collect, Click & Collect, Click & Buy).
The implementation of the Outfit Wall in brick-and-mortar retail is a prime example of how online and offline communication can be connected.
